    Can you tell what kind of surfaces the player will be walking and running on and also what kind of footwear he will be wearing?

    Well, at the moment he will mainly be walking around indoors. So maybe like an airport floor? I am making some funky boots for him...not work boots but something kinda cool. Hope that helps...

    Well, what I needed to know was if it was heavy boots or more like light sneakers, so I would know what to wear. Also the materials would it be concrete, stone slabs, metal grids, because then I would know what to go for.
    Additionally what kind of animations involving footsteps will the character have, will he make stop skids, quick turns, or run up stairs?

    I have uploaded two sets of footsteps, which I recorded today at the IHK stone slab hallway floor. I tried a variety of surfaces, but those recordings did not turn out very well.

    First set is for the normal walk cycle.

    Second set is for the running cycle.

    Unfortunately there is slight noise from my clothes (I couldn't remove much more, because the volume would have become to low), but once in the scene with other sounds it won't be noticeable. As for the variety it is possible to alter the footsteps pitch on the fly in Unity.
